Ashley Graham is excited to have landed a spot inside the 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. The so-called “plus-size” model was named as one of five members of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie Class.

Graham shared her excitement in an Instagram post.
“It’s official–I’m a @si_swimsuit model!! This is a dream come true. Thank you to everyone who stood up for curves- our voices were heard and together we can help me win Rookie of the Year. Stay tuned for voting instructions #beautybeyondsize #siswim,” Ashley Graham captioned a photo of herself looking tan and sexy on a beach.
Something Graham isn’t excited about is the term “plus-size” when referring to models–or anyone, for that matter.
“I hate the word ‘real woman’ and I hate the word ‘plus-size,'” she said in an interview with E! News ahead of the debut of her Ashley Graham lingerie collection for Addition Elle.
“I’ve got plenty of friends [of all sizes] and different shapes and everything,” she added, “and I don’t want any of them to feel like they aren’t ‘real women.'”
Ashley Graham recognizes that some women like to categorize themselves as plus-size, and she respects that.

“I totally respect that,” she said, “but for someone like me, I don’t feel the connection to the word ‘plus-sized.'”
Fans can check out Ashley Graham–and the rest of the sexy Sports Illustrated models–in the magazine’s swimsuit addition when it hits news stands later in February.
