Its been over two months now since the first story DLC for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was announced. The Freedom Cry! DLC was announced before the main game was even released.

Today, Ubisoft finally revealed that Freedom Cry! will be released next week, on December 17. The content will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC for $10.

The new add-on will allow players to step into the shoes of a different Black Flag character, complete with new weapons and animiations. Freedom Cry! stars Adéwale, Edward Kenway’s first mate in the main Black Flag campaign. The character finds himself shipwrecked 15 years after the events of Black Flag and must make his way around the island of St. Domingue.

Freedom Cry! will also deal with the dark theme of slavery. As a former slave, Adéwale will have to confront the reality of the slave trade in what is now modern-day Haiti. Players can choose to free slaves, help Maroons, or simply continue being a pirate.
