Former WCW superstar Buff Bagwell, also known amongst us mere mortals as Marcus Alexander Bagwell, was critically injured in an automobile accident. After calling his wife and informing her that he was about to have a seizure, Bagwell lost control of his Jeep, sending him and vehicle spinning across the median. The crash caused Bagwell, 42, to break several bones in his neck, face, and jaw, landing him in the intensive care unit at WellStar Kennestone Hospital. He remains in serious condition.
Bagwell rose to fame in the WCW during the 90’s, defeating several memorable opponents and winning the World Tag Team Champion five times during his career. In addition to the time spent in the ring, Bagwell also co-starred in cult director Andy Sidaris’ 1996 B-movie action extravaganza “Day of the Warrior”. Two years later, he reprised his role as Warrior in Sidaris’ babes and bullets opus “Return to Savage Beach”. Both films, as you may already have guessed, were released direct-to-video.
The former wrestler also sustained a broken neck while wrestling in 1998, an injury that, at the time, was supposed to end his career. However, Bagwell defied the odds, returning to the ring to deal some seriously intense damage 10 months later. The guy is obviously a fighter, so here’s hoping he makes a full recovery very soon.
