Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson is making headlines. Again. And, despite some things the Robertson family patriarch has said over the past few months that might lead one to believe he has a hateful heart, Robertson says that he doesn’t hate anyone.

Let’s recap. Back in December, the Duck Dynasty star got in hot water after making crass comments regarding homosexuals. As you likely remember, A&E suspended him for a short time before lifting the ban after viewers threatened to boycott the network. Last week, some information came out about a convention that Robertson and his son Alan are hosting that shows the Robertson men are trying to convert Jews to Christianity.

But wait–there’s more. Robertson also fired up some people complaining about the lack of good women available to marry–good women are women who carry a Bible, can cook, and will pick your ducks. He suggested that men snatch up good women early. “You gotta marry these girls when they’re about 15, 16, they’ll pick your ducks,” Robertson said.

So, between the perceived homophobia, religious intolerance, and sexism/suggesting minor girls get married, it’s understandable that some folks are less than thrilled with the Duck Dynasty star.

No worries, though. Despite the above incidents where Robertson offended large groups of people, he says that he doesn’t hate anyone.

“I just said, ‘Whether it be bestiality.’ I could’ve said pedophilia, rape, homosexual sin, heterosexual sin,” Robertson said during an interview on ABC News, clarifying his December comments. “To me, I was just letting them know they’re all the same. Just sin…Read the book and decide for themselves. But people need to get in their heads that I don’t hate anybody,” Robertson said.

The Duck Dynasty star also offered more insight on his opinions on homosexuality and racism. “I’m as much of a homophobe as Jesus was. The people that are participating in homosexual behavior need to know that I love them…There is only one race–the human race. We’re all the same.”

Perhaps Robertson is just misunderstood, but one thing is for sure–he has no love for ISIS, the terrorist organization that is responsible for beheading American journalists, as well as kidnapping and selling hundreds of girls as sex slaves.

During an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News on Tuesday, Robertson said that he would deal with the group by converting or killing them. “You either have to convert them, which I think would be next to impossible…either convert them or kill them,” Robertson said.
