Facebook is now letting Page owners and admins invite their friends to “like” their Facebook Page directly through notifications.
This could be very helpful for Page owners to give their Pages a boost in users, and offers more incentive for personal connections at the same time (the more friends you have, the more people you are able to invite).
Of course etiquette and good taste are advised as you’re inviting people. I wouldn’t necessarily take this as an opportunity to spam everyone you know looking to get some more fans, but, it is is a way to give people a nudge and remind them of or introduce the to your Page.
Page admins will now see an “Invite Friends” link on the right-hand side of the page near the top, just under “View Insights”.
When you click it, you get options to view friends by recent interactions, search all friends, view by city/town, or by lists that you have created.
A hat tip goes to InsideFacebook for pointing this out. “Our initial test of the invite system quickly showed a high conversion rate. This is likely because users see the invites as soon as they log on, and the inclusion of the sender’s photo makes the recipient feel that they’ve received a trusted recommendation,” says Josh Constine.
The email element of the notifications can’t hurt either.
As long as we’re on the subject, allow me to invite you to like our Facebook Page here.
