Last year, Google announced that it had crossed a hundred million Android devices. Today, at Google I/O, the company announced that it has hit its latest milestone – 400 million devices activated.
According to Hugo Barra (pictured), Director of Android Product Mangement, 12 new devices are activated every second of every day. One million are activated daily.
What’s really interesting is that the developing world, according to Barra, is adopting Android at a far greater pace than the rest of the world. Countries like Brazil, India, Thailand, and Indonesia, each grew 500% over the past year in Android adoption.
Barra then went on to annonce the latest version of Android, Jellybean. More no that very shortly.
