Details are emerging on the divorce between actress Gwyneth Paltrow and musician Chris Martin. Even though they are consciously uncoupling, the two will remain friends and live together.
“This has been a long time coming,” A source told People Magazine, “The writing was all over the walls. I’m surprised that it took this long.” Despite the seemingly doomed nature of the relationship the source added that “they are still going to be friends” for the sake of their two children.
The reports are consistent with the original announcement over Paltrow’s website, goop: “We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been. We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time.” On a postscript of a more resent post Paltrow said: “CM and I in deep gratitude for the support of so many. ♥”
Among those lending their support to the couple is actress Cameron Diaz. “People go separate ways in other aspects of their life, and I think it’s really brave of them to phrase it that way,” she told Extra, “Leaving as a couple and deciding to stay together as parents and as friends… I think it’s beautiful. I’m so proud of them.”
Coldplay also tweeted a message of support for the uncouple:

The IB Times reported that another source said the couple will continue to live with one another: “The place actually includes two totally separate living spaces under one roof so Paltrow and Martin can live together – apart – during their divorce.” Although the two are living in the same house, the report went on to say the former couple are living separate lives and are ready to pursue other relationships.
