The How I Met Your Mother spin-off, How I Met Your Dad, decided to replace an actress even before they filmed the pilot episode. Merely a day after this decision, they have hired her replacement.

Yesterday, news broke that Krysta Rodriguez was exiting the series after only doing a table read. Deadline cites that the casting change was due to wanting to take the character in a new direction. Originally, Juliet, played by Rodriguez, was described as being “a sexy, flamboyant force of nature who runs the most successful fashion blog in the country.” She acts as a “kindred spirit” to her best friend Sally played by Greta Gerwig. Before getting cast in How I Met Your Dad, Rodriguez appeared in the short-lived NBC musical-series Smash.

Today the How I Met Your Dad team announced that they already found Rodriguez’s replacement. Tiya Sircar will now take on the role of Juliet. With the casting change, also comes the change in Juliet’s workplace.

Sircar recently wrapped up shooting an upcoming guest role on CBS’s The Crazy Ones. Her character Allie will be an assistant to Sarah Michelle Gellar’s character Sydney and a love interest to Hamish Linklater’s character Andrew.  Additionally, she played a lead role in the Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson comedy The Internship, appeared on Lifetime’s Witches of East End, Disney’s The Suite Life on Deck, and the CW’s The Vampire Diaries.

How I Met Your Dad exists in the same world and has a similar tone to How I Met Your Mother. How I Met Your Dad follows Sally, a “Peter Pan” like character who just ended her marriage after only a year.  As she attempts to grow-up and navigate life, Sally seeks support from her solid group of New York friends. The How I Met Your Dad cast also includes Drew Tarver, Nick D’Agosto, Andrew Santino, and Anders Holm.
