Hybrid cars will be a big deal in 2015 as the market grows and expands for consumers who wish to be more environmentally conscious, but don’t want to drive tiny cars.

For example 2015 will see the premiere of the Chrysler Town & Country plug-in hybrid electric minivan.

The plug-in hybrid car concept for a minivan was intended to roll out in 2009, but was scrapped when Fiat took over a troubled Chrysler.

Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne helped engineer Chrysler Group LLC’s rescue from insolvency in 2009 and has now expressed his enthusiasm for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) at the Paris Motor Show this week.

The new Chrysler Town & Country plug-in hybrid electric minivan would be the first mass-production minivan able to travel for short distances on electric-only power before the gasoline engine kicks in. The original 2008 concept was all-electric.

Town & Country PHEV would get the equivalent of 75 miles to the gallon.

Wow! That’s pretty fantastic for a car that doesn’t feel like a toy.

In addition to the budget conscious family hybrid car, there will also be a new luxury Cadillac hybrid car.

The CT6, as it is presumed to be called, will be a larger rear-wheel-drive sedan and will include a plug-in hybrid model. The hybrid car will be supplementing what are assumed to be V-6 and V-8 gasoline variants.

The Cadillac CT6 plug-in hybrid car will compete with the Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid car and the new 2016 Mercedes-Benz S550 Plug-In Hybrid car that recently went on sale in Germany.

Tough decision if you’re in the market for a luxury hybrid car that will also be more environmentally friendly (or gas budget friendly).

However, if you have a family in tow and are ready to make the switch, the new Town and Country looks really great!

What do you think about the new line-up of hybrid cars for 2015?
