Sunday night on “The Beatles: The Night That Changed America – A Grammy Salute,” celebrities and musicians alike gathered for an unforgettable evening. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr witnessed the lovely evening as well.
The tribute welcomed performances of classic Beatle’s hits from Dave Grohl, Annie Lennox and John Mayer.
However, the most unforgettable and mentioned performance of the evening went to Katy Perry for her version of, “Yesterday.”
Beatles fans weren’t too pleased with Perry’s rendition. The “Dark Horse” musician changed the word ‘man’ to ‘girl’ in the song causing quite an uproar.

Katy Perry did a fine job with "Yesterday." I'm sure the Beatles were fine with her changing the pronouns. Get a life, people. #Beatles50

Hearing the tragedy of Katy Perry butchering "Yesterday" can never be unheard. #Awful #Beatles

This wasn’t the first time Perry had performed a Beatles song.
Do you think Perry shouldn’t have taken the liberty to change the lyrics? Were you fine with the song? Either way, leave your comments below.
