Kelly Osbourne has several tattoos already, but she decided to add one to her shoulder in honor of a dear friend who recently passed: Joan Rivers.
Osbourne shared a photo of the new ink recently on Instagram with a caption that explains why she chose the design, a small white bumblebee.
“If you looked at aerodynamics, at science, the bumble bee should not be able to fly. Physically, it was just not anatomically equipped to soar. Yet it did, defying gravity, defying logic. The bee was a creature that defied and beat the odds, a miracle,” she quoted on the image sharing site, adding, “Thank you for being my miracle @JoanRivers.”
Rivers passed away in September after a throat procedure, during which her heart stopped. Osbourne later shared a clearer photo of the tattoo, which was done in white ink.
Osbourne celebrated a birthday this week and spent time with her family, including her niece, Pearl, who helped her blow out the candles on her cake. The family was on hand to share the television host’s big night, and she also had a Rocky Horror Picture Show-themed bash with friends.
