Melissa Rivers has issued a new statement to the media regarding the present medical status of her mom, Joan Rivers. The elder Rivers has been hospitalized since suffering a medical emergency during throat surgery on Thursday.
The host of E!’s hit show Fashion Police, Joan Rivers was placed in a medically induced coma at a New York hospital.
“Thank you for your continued love and support,” Melissa Rivers said in a statement to the media on Sunday. “We are keeping our fingers crossed.”
George Kotsiopoulos, Kelly Osbourne, and Giuliana Rancic all co-star with Joan Rivers on Fashion Police. In addition to keeping her in their thoughts, Osbourne and Ranci expressed their best wishes via social media.

George Kotsiopoulos shared his thoughts while chatting with E!.
“Social media has really just been very supportive and I think that is important right now if we collectively we all just pray for Joan to be well and back and laughing with us very soon,” he said. “Melissa and Cooper need you. We all need you. The world needs you.”
Melissa Rivers and her son Cooper flew from L.A. to New York immediately upon hearing of Joan Rivers’ medical emergency and have remained by her side ever since.
Fans are no doubt joining family and friends in praying that the comedienne makes a full and speedy recovery.
