Of course Michigan St. gets penalized for winning, and Auburn gets rewarded for losing. #APPoll

Basing final season rankings on the outcomes of bowl games is inherently flawed & ridiculous. #BCS #APPoll #USACoachesPoll #SicEm

This is the third time that BCS Champ Florida State has earned top dog in the AP Poll. The Seminoles also received all 60 first-place votes. One interesting fact about the AP Poll is that a bowl win doesn’t necessarily improve a squad’s ranking. For example, underdog Clemson University surprised Ohio State in the Orange Bowl by defeating them 40-35. However, that was still only good enough for 8th place. And even though Oklahoma defeated a heavily favored Alabama team, who many thought should have been playing instead of Auburn in the BCS title game last night, they still ranked outside of the top 5.
