According to the Powerball’s official website, there were no winners of the Saturday, September 14 drawing.
Saturday’s jackpot was $317 million, which had a cash option of approximately $176 million, after no one matched all six numbers on Wednesday’s drawing. The winning numbers for Saturday were 1, 17, 25, 37 and 44, with a Powerball of 20.
Several people came close to the jackpot, but sadly fell one number short. However, they still won one million dollars. There were eleven tickets matching five out of the six numbers sold throughout the United States. Those states include: New York, Maryland, Ohio, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Georgia, Idaho, California, and Pennsylvania.
Now, the jackpot has jumped to an approximate $400 million, with a $224 million cash option. The next drawing will be held on Wednesday, September 18.
The largest jackpot in the Powerball game’s history reached $590 million in May, and was won by a Florida Woman, Gloria Mackenzie. She opted for the cash option and took home $331 million.
Powerball is played in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The odds of winning are one in 175 million.
