Sandra Bullock is no longer solely surrounded by the “Legos and Batmans” five-year-old son Louis loves. She has now added “pink and glitter” to her world with the adoption of three-year-old foster daughter Laila–pronounced “Lie-la.”

It was Louis who inspired Sandra Bullock to adopt a second child. His want of a sibling combined with her love of children was all that was needed to get the ball rolling.
“Louis spearheaded this whole journey,” Bullock says, adding that while the two siblings have since formed an inseparable bond, the first stages of bringing Laila home required patience and plenty of reassurance.
“I knew she was scared, and all I wanted was for her to know Louis and I weren’t going anywhere,” she says of Laila, who has brought “pink and glitter in the house mixed with Legos and Batmans.”
Even Sandra Bullock’s new beau plays a vital role in this announcement. Bryan Randall photographed the family for the spread in the upcoming issue of People magazine that features Sandra Bullock’s exciting news.

Kudos to Sandra Bullock, who has all the money required to adopt a stereotypical white newborn baby, but chose instead to adopt two children from the Foster Care system instead.
