It seems that Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa and Joe Giudice have been “headed to prison” for some time.
After making a plea agreement in March following eight years of admitted fraudulent behavior, the only thing that remains is for the judge to hand down their sentences.
However, it may be some time before that actually happens if the pattern continues.
Originally scheduled for late July, the sentencing was pushed back to September due to a death in the family.
Now, the sentencing has been pushed back to October 2nd.
A loss in the family certainly provides a valid excuse for the initial delay, some are puzzled as to why there seems to be a great deal of stalling in a case where the defendants are have already pleaded their guilt to charges against them.

“[Sentencings] get postponed so that everybody involved can be fully prepared,” explained Henry E. Klingeman,Teresa Giudice’s defense attorney.
Klingeman said that the court is waiting on additional information from “all sides” and that’s why the couple’s sentencing is to be postponed for an additional few weeks.
Although Teresa’s plea agreement includes the possibility of serving 21 to 27 months, Klingeman admits that he will do his utmost to ensure his client gets probation.
Said Klingeman, “The plea agreement permits us to do so and it’s certainly a just sentence under the circumstances.”
Joe Giudice’s agreement is not quite so flexible. It’s reported that he could be sentenced to anywhere from three to four years and possibly deported back to Italy.
It’s still possible that the Giudices can both escape with jail time altogether, but the odds are slim.
Teresa Giudice admitted that the possibility of going to jail scares her, but that she was able to face the possible consequences thanks to the love and support of her family.

This may or may not extend to her husband Joe Giudice if ongoing divorce rumors are to be believed.
