Square Enix surprised us earlier this year at E3 2013 when it was revealed that the oft delayed Final Fantasy Versus XIII had become Final Fantasy XV. That was only one part of the surprise, however, as Square also revealed that the game was being moved from the PS3 to the PS4 and Xbox One.
It’s now been a few months since the initial announcement, and fans are awaiting any news on the title with renewed faith. Unfortunately, Square Enix had nothing new to share at this week’s Tokyo Game Show, but it did reveal a new trailer for the title. It mostly uses footage that we saw back at E3, but there’s a few new scenes in this latest trailer to justify another viewing.
Final Fantasy XV continues to be quite the looker. In fact, it may be the best looking next-gen game we’ve seen so far. The only other comparable game that comes to mind is The Witcher 3 – another RPG from a studio known for its attention to visuals.
There’s no firm release date for Final Fantasy XV just yet, but we’ll hopefully not have to wait long for it. Square Enix can’t afford to delay its next big Final Fantasy title for another seven years. In the meantime, however, fans can look forward to the HD remaster of Final Fantasy X/X-2.
