Valerie Letourneau was literally beaten badly by her opponent and the reigning strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk during Saturday’s UFC fight.
While Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm have been the main focus from that fight, Valerie Letourneau and Joanna Jedrzejczyk fought really hard and put on quite the show.
After it was all over, Joanna held on to her champion title and Valerie Letourneau was left to nurse her wounds and rest.
UFC President Dana White said of Letourneau, “Valerie Letourneau is – oh my God. Her eye was massive. It was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen, her eye. It was so bad.”
He added, “So then I’m like, ‘How’s your leg?’ Then she looks at me and pulls the covers over and shows me her leg. I’ve never seen anything like that. It was – I’m telling you, (she) is banged up right now.”
However, as bad as it sounds, Valerie Letourneau seems to have healed rather quickly in the last week.
Perhaps after watching UFC 193, Dana White is correct in saying, “The women are tougher than the men. Women have babies for Christ’s sake. They’re way tougher than us. Way tougher than the men.”
